Hi, I'm Merci! I am about 8 years old and weigh 7 pounds.



 



Everything is new to me since coming into rescue. I'm quite scared of new things, but am brave every day. Part of my fears may be due to limited hearing. I've had chronic ear infections not managed well, so my hearing has been compromised and is pretty minimal. Finding a family who can understand how this affects me and show patience would be lovely.  


 



 



I am good with other dogs and will need one in my forever home.  They make me feel comfortable and teach me how to be a brave pup. Dogs around my size are the best! My foster sister is my size and we have fun playing together. But really only when no one is looking! Sometimes I will make a groaning sound at her when I need something. See, there's definitely some Yorkie attitude in there waiting to be released! 




I'm looking for a safe and secure yard. Do you have one? This will keep me safe and help me since I haven't learned how to walk on a leash yet. One step at a time! Getting picked up isn't my favorite thing quite yet, so my foster mom is extra patient when she needs me to go somewhere. Since I can't hear well, it feels like someone is always sneaking up on me. Scary, right!?




Children seem to move pretty fast and since I don't know what they're doing with those happy smiles and waving arms, it's best that my home life is without them. Hope that's OK!




My foster mom says she knows there's a sweet and playful girl underneath my fear. 

Deep down I am ready for love, and once I learn to trust my people, I will blossom into a love bug. 




 




Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:  




Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

FOSTER CARE:





All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:





Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
